In this Customizing activity, you define your own validations.

You have determined the configuration object which provides the attributes needed for the validation.

If you need a specific check method, you have implemented the BAdI Validations for a filter value.

You can enter the data in the overview list or in the detail screen.

  1. Enter the connected configuration object and a new ID. Use the customer namespace (9*) for the ID. Add a meaningful description.
  2. Choose the correct check method. There are two predefined check methods:
  • Equality

  • Conditional indicator equality.

  1. If you want to use a specific check method, choose the Customer defined check method.
  2. If you have chosen a predefined check method, you have to define the following values:
  • The validation attribute to be checked with the check method

  • Message ID, message number

  • Depending on the number of mandatory message variables, the attributes and the origin to fill the message variable.

  1. If a validation is relevant to the organization, you can set the Attribute for Error Message Variable 1as organization-relevant value, such as Company Code, Controlling Area, the organizational value will be added as an attribute in the left navigation tree of the Application Log.
