The Management Accounting Platform is a cloud platform running in the SAP HANA Cloud Platform that provides a broad range of cloud applications and cloud services that support and simplify business processes in the area of Management Accounting.

The ERP backend system has to be technically integrated with the SAP HANA Cloud Platform.

This integration involves the installation of the SAP Cloud Connector which establishes a secure VPN tunnel between the ERP and the cloud platform.

All customizing activities below the Management Accounting Platform node have to be conducted.

The technical integration between the ERP and the SAP HANA Cloud Platform is based on the SAP Cloud Connector that establishes the secure connection between both landscapes.

The ABAP interface residing in the ERP backend reads the X.509 certificate that is sent from the SAP Cloud Connector, extracts its issuer and ensures that this certificate issuer is maintained to be trustful. Otherwise, the request is rejected.

The ABAP interface residing in the ERP backend utilizes an additional database connection which is meant to run with a database user that has restricted privileges, meaning that the database system ensures that no data is modified.

The cloud application SAP RealSpend supports managers in monitoring and controlling their budget along with actual costs and upcoming costs, such as commitments.
