SAP E-Book

Before you start migrating your data, please see:

  • The conversion guide for SAP S/4HANA
It explains the general steps of the conversion process in detail.
  • SAP Note 2332030
Attached to this SAP Note you find a document outlining the conversion tasks you have to perform to convert your Accounting components to SAP S/4HANA.

Note

Please note, that none of the following Customizing activities are relevant for you if you are a new customer installing SAP S/4HANA for the first time.

Note for Asset Accounting (FI-AA)

To use Asset Accounting in SAP S/4HANA, please proceed using the sequence defined under Preparations and Migration of Customizing -> Preparations and Migration of Customizing for Asset Accounting -> Migration from Classic to New Asset Accounting.

If you have not been using the new depreciation calculation from the Enterprise Extension Financials Extension (EA-FIN), you must implement it as part of a separate project. To activate the new depreciation calculation in your source system activate the EA-FIN business function.

If you do not want to use Asset Accounting at this or any later point in time, please deactivate Asset Accounting by deactivating the RAIN (Asset Accounting) component in table TRWCA in your system in all relevant clients.

You need to perform all of the following Customizing activities.

Make sure you perform the activities in the given order. Do not skip any of the Customizing activities.

Caution

Make sure you only migrate the data once.

Only set the migration to completed after the following conditions have been met:

  • You have finished all activities required for complete migration.
  • Your data is complete and you have corrected all erroneous data.

After you set the status to completed, you cannot reset the status.

After you have set the migration status to completed, users can create postings.
