This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the following components:

  • General Ledger Accounting (FI-GL)
  • Accounts Payable (FI-AP)
  • Accounts Receivable (FI-AR)

You can use this BAdI for the following purposes:

  • You can replace a standard system message by your own message. This gives you the option, for example, of formulating a technical error message for end users in more detail.
  • You can influence the system behavior by changing the message type (error, success, information). However, you should only make use of this in special cases.

The BAdI is always called if the back end generates a message and forwards it to the business object layer (BOL).

You can use the BAdI only for those applications that are based on the BOL component FIDOC. This is the case when posting, displaying or changing FI documents in Web Dynpro.
