In this Customizing activity, you can define risk profiles with different risk categories, which are used to evaluate the risk for a business partner or form bundle.

If you want to assign a question and answer (Q&A) profile to a risk category, you already defined the Q&A profile in the Customizing activity Define Question and Answer Profiles.

You can define the following:

  • Risk profiles using Details
  • Risk profile ID and description

  • Evaluation method

You can select Weighting Factor Evaluation or Highest Risk is Overall Risk. If you select Weighting Factor Evaluation, you can define the risk value range.
  • Manual evaluation of overall risk

  • Risk category for the risk profile using Details
  • Risk category ID and description

  • Validity period for risk category

By default, the risk category is always valid.
  • Risk value for low to medium risk and high risk

Low risk has low values.
  • Risk value based on the Allow Risk Value Change indicator

If this indicator is selected, you can change the risk value.

If this indicator is selected, the risk value is derived from the answer point and cannot be changed. For more information, see the Customizing activity Define Question and Answer Profiles.
You can use FI-CA event P292 to implement your own logic for calculating risk value from answer points.
  • Weighting factor for the risk profile, if the evaluation method of the risk profile is weighting factor evaluation

  • Q&A profile for this risk profile, if required

  • Time-dependent weighting factor for risk category, if the evaluation method of the risk profile is weighting factor evaluation
  • Validity period

  • Weighting factor of risk category for this validity period

You want to determine overall risk using different evaluation methods.

Highest Risk is Overall Risk

Risk profile: PRF01

Evaluation method: Highest Risk is Overall Risk

The risk categories definition for PRF01 is the following:

Risk Category   Low Risk From   Low Risk To   Medium Risk To   High Risk To
RC01   1   5   7   9
RC02   1   20   30   50

The risk value for the risk category is the following:

Risk Category   Risk Value
RC01   4
RC02   40

The risk status for each risk category is the following:

  • RC01: Low risk (4 is between 1 and 5)
  • RC02: High risk (40 is between 30 and 50)

Therefore, the overall risk for risk profile PRF01 is high risk because you take the highest risk for all categories.

Weighting Factor Evaluation

Risk profile: PRF02

Evaluation method: Weighting Factor Evaluation

The risk value for the risk profile is the following:

Low Risk From   Low Risk To   Medium Risk To   High Risk To
1   5   7   10

The risk categories definition for PRF02 is the following:

Risk Category   Low Risk From   Low Risk To   Medium Risk To   High Risk To   Weighting Factor
RC01   1   5   7   10   20%
RC02   1   20   30   50   80%

The risk value for the risk category for risk profile PRF02 is the following:

Risk Category   Risk Value
RC01   4
RC02   40

Therefore, the risk status for each risk category is the following:

  • RC01: Low risk (4 is between 1 and 5)
  • RC02: High risk (40 is between 30 and 50)

The formula for the overall risk value is the following:

Sum [(risk value * risk range value of risk profile / risk range value of risk category) * risk category weighting factor]

Therefore, the overall risk value is 4 * (10/10) * 20% + 40 * (10/50) * 80% = 7.2. The overall risk is high risk because it is between 7 and 10.
