FMDM_USMDZ7VALCUST - Change Message Type for Validations

In this Customizing activity, you can redefine the message type for each validation level (Change Request, Edition, and Single Processing). The system can output a message as an informationor warningmessage in one error situation, and as an errormessage in another. For example, assigning a cost center to its standard hierarchy triggers a warning message in single-object processing, but an error message when trying to release the related edition.

You have configured the messages in the Customizing activity Make Basic Settings for Controlling Validations.

We deliver standard settings in Switch BC sets. The system will automatically add Customizing when you activate the related business functions for MDG-F.

We predefine default message types for all validations related to data model 0G. We also provide Customizing for application area USMDZ3.

Start the Customizing activity Change Message Type for Validations, and choose the application area USMDZ3.

In the Maintain Control of Message Type by User view, choose the message you want to adjust, or add new entries for custom messages. You can select a single message and navigate to the Main Control of Message Type for Check Levelview. You can redefine the message type for each validation level (Change Request, Edition, or Single Processing). The redefinition requires message types for all three check levels.

The message types are as follows:

o,,E: Error

o,,W: Warning

o,,I: Information

The actual message types that are available for a single message are taken from the allowed message types as defined in the system (in the Configurable System Messagesview of the Customizing activity Make Basic Settings for Controlling Validations. If you do not redefine the message types for a message, the standard message type applies for all three validation levels.
