SAP E-Book

In this IMG activity you can enter the personalization data of users in a personalization dialog supplied by SAP or in one you created yourself. You enter the values that apply to the selected users. The personalization dialog defines the entry screen for the data.

This form of collective maintenance is particularly useful for characteristics that are the same for many users (such as the controlling area or year). For characteristics that are different for different users (such as cost centers), you can also use this IMG activity by entering individual users instead of user groups. As an alternative, you can have the different values entered automatically from the users' authorizations (see Fill Personalization Data from Authorizations).

Notes

  • For performance reasons, there is no authorization check here. An authorization check is only run in the applications that use the personalization data for selection.
  • If users enter their personalization data themselves in the application, those are the entries that apply rather than the data entered here in collective maintenance. When personalization data is entered by users themselves, an authorization check is run.
  • The users have been created.
  • Custom and/or standard SAP personalization dialogs exist.

  1. Choose the personalization dialog you want to use to enter data.
  2. Enter the users for whom you want to enter the personalization data.
  3. Enter a time period. If you don't enter anything, the system assumes the largest possible time period (01/01/0001 to 12/31/9999).
  4. Specify whether you want the system to update only the data you entered or also the fields you left empty.
  5. Choose Program -> Execute.
An entry screen for the selected personalization dialog appears.
  1. Enter the personalization data and save it.
