SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you define the number intervals of the number ranges for distribution curve.

When creating a distribution curve, a number is assigned which identifies distribution curve data. The number comes from the number range which is provided for the distribution curve.

There are two possible types of number assignment:

  • Internal number assignment

The SAP System automatically assigns a consecutive number from the defined number range.

  • External number assignment

You specify a number from the external number range.

You can maintain internal number range for distribution curve using the transaction FSH_DC_MAINTAIN only. You cannot maintain the internal number range if the distribution curve ID is created using function module FSH_DPR_MAINTAINDATA_RFC.

  1. To define a number range, you have to create a new number interval:
  • Specify an alphanumeric key with up to 2 characters.
  • Specify the limits of the number interval. The individual number intervals may not overlap. Thus, every number can only occur once.
  • Mark the number range if it is planned for external number assignment.
  1. Afterwards, specify the key of the number range for the document types in the Customizing activity Maintain Number Range Number for Distribution Curve
