In this Customizing activity, you define a release rule to determine which quantities are acceptable for your customers. You can specify the minimum percent of the quantities that must be fulfilled at the different release levels so that an order can be released for delivery.

You can define these percentage rates for requirements at the following levels:

  • Group of Documents
  • Document header
  • Delivery groups or season attributes
  • Generic articles
  • Leading dimension
  • Articles or items
  • Schedule line
  • Schedule line group

Notes:

  • You can define a release rule at delivery groups' level or season attributes level. You cannot define a release rule at both the levels.
  • For more information on maintaining release check at leading dimension level, see the application help on SAP help portal under SAP Business Suite > > SAP ERP Add-Ons >> SAP Fashion Management >> Order Allocation Run >> Steps in Order Allocation Run >> Release Rule >> Release Check for Leading Dimension.
  • For more information on maintaining release rules at generic article level, see the application help on SAP help portal under SAP Business Suite > > SAP ERP Add-Ons >> SAP Fashion Management >> Steps in Order Allocation Run >> Release Rule >> Release Check for Generic Article.

You can define release rules for individual grouping rules, for special customers, or for a certain allocation type.

If a release rule fails at a particular level, the response parameter indicates whether system response should be displayed as information, termination, warning, or error.

To specify the maximum percent of the quantities that must be fulfilled at the schedule line release level, you must select the Up To Release Quantity checkbox while defining the allocation logic.

  1. Define a release rule by assigning an alphanumeric key with a maximum of four characters and a description.
  2. Enter the required fields such as the minimum percentage of an order that must be fulfilled for that order to be released.
  • The ARun status will be reserved (with status R) for the following scenarios:
  • When a release check fails and the status is maintained as R.

  • When you allocate a sales contract, the final status will be maintained as R irrespective of the release check. In preview mode, the status can be F, H or R based on the release rules defined in Customizing.

  • When you allocate requirement with future receipt stock, the final status will be maintained as R irrespective of the release check. In preview mode, the status can be F, H or R based on the release rules defined in Customizing.

  • During the calculation of release status at these release check levels, the physical stock is considered and not the future receipts.

The majority of your customers are satisfied with a delivery quota of 80% per ordered item. In this case, you first define a release rule, enter the value of 80% at sales order header or STO header level, and then enter the release rule in the allocation type. If an order from a normal customer is selected, the system checks whether 80% of the ordered items can be delivered on a quantity basis. If this is the case, the item is released and can be delivered. At the same time, you can define a release rule for special customers with higher requirements. This rule will only release orders if, for example, the ordered quantities are 100% fulfilled. If an order from a special customer is selected by the same allocation run as above, the system checks whether 100% of the total quantity is available.
