In this customizing activity, you can define or maintain preference management (PFM) characteristics. You can only add the characteristics that are relevant to segmentation as PFM characteristics. You can maintain up to 16 PFM characteristics each of one character value. In the outbound delivery or the billing document, the system concatenates all the characteristic values and displays them in the PFM Segment Value field. After defining the PFM characteristics, you can lock the characteristic. You can only use the locked PFM characteristics to maintain PFM rules using transaction FSH_PFM.

You have performed the following tasks:

  • Defined the characteristics that are relevant to segmentation using transaction CT04.
  • Defined the segmentation structure using transaction SGTS.

  1. Enter the PFM characteristic.
  2. Lock the PFM characteristic.
