Before you can start using the map user interface (UI) delivered with SAP Geographical Enablement Framework, you must define and customize your settings for basemaps, icons, reference layer groups, business layer groups and so on. This is an important step that will allow you to use the interface efficiently. A number of customizing options are available and you can find the detailed descriptions of the tasks in the Help documentation.

The following list outlines the main parts of the Customizing activity you must define to be able to use the map user interface:

  • Servers for Map Services (mandatory)
  • Basemaps for the UI (mandatory)
  • Reference Services or Layers
  • Reference Layer Group Hierarchies
  • Business Layer Group Hierarchies (mandatory)
  • UI Configurations (mandatory)
  • UI Profiles for Geo Objects
