SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you specify the danger labels. To do so, you assign the following values to the dangerous label numbers:

  • The associated dangerous goods regulation
  • Possibly the dangerous goods class
  • The language-dependent description
  • Possibly the associated graphic
  • Possibly the profile for additional information

The settings defined in this Customizing activity affect how danger labels are printed on reports (such as safety data sheets and labels) and dangerous goods documents. The data is output using function modules.

The relevant formatting methods for reports are combined in the Output Main and Subsidiary Risks and Danger Labels solution package.

The danger labels for dangerous goods documents are output using output conditions that are created in the Customizing activity Specify Output Conditions and Formatting Methods and output via the text pattern.

You have completed the Customizing activity Specify Segregation Keys.

Specify Profiles for Additional Information

In this activity, you specify the input help for the Profile for Additional Information field, which is used in the Specify Danger Labels activity.

The profile for additional information enables you to distinguish between danger label types, such as danger labels, main and subsidiary risks, and placards. The values defined here control how the danger labels are output on reports (such as safety data sheets or labels) and dangerous goods documents.

The following entries are shipped with the standard system:

Additional Info Description
or LR Danger label and hazard
LB As danger label only
RS As hazard only (main/secondary risk)
PL Placard

You can also create your own entries here in the Z customer namespace.

Specify Danger Labels

In this activity, you specify for the danger label the danger label numbers for the dangerous goods regulations and assign these the language-dependent description and the relevant dangerous goods class.

If, in addition to the danger label number, you specify a dangerous goods class for the danger label, the relevant formatting method or output condition is used to print the dangerous goods class on the report or the dangerous goods document instead of the danger label number. Otherwise the danger label number appears on the report. This allows you to create a number of danger labels for a dangerous goods class.

You can use the segregation keys to define segregation rules for the mixed loading checks dangerous goods check method.

You can also store graphics for the danger labels, which are then printed on the reports (such as safety data sheets or labels) using the relevant report symbol.

You can assign defined values in the Specify Profiles for Additional Information activity under Profile for Additional Information. These values are used to control the danger labels printed on reports and dangerous goods documents. A distinction is made between whether the danger label number is a danger label, a hazard (main and subsidiary risks), or additional information (placard or customer-specific entry).

PL

Specify Danger Labels activity:

Regulation Danger Label No. Class Description   Additional Info
CFR 6.1 6.1 Poison gas
CFR 6.1I 6.1 Poison inhalation hazard
IATA_C 3   Flammable liquid
IATA_C 6.1 6.1 Toxic substance
IATA_C 6.1R 6.1 Toxic substance (only as danger)   RS

  • For regulation CFR, you require the danger labels Poison Gas and Poison Inhalation Hazard for dangerous goods class 6.1. Therefore create two danger labels with any dangerous label numbers (6.1 and 6.1I). Then assign the correct dangerous goods class (6.1) to each danger label. The dangerous goods class is used here to print the danger labels on reports and dangerous goods documents.
  • For regulation IATA (IATA_C), you require an additional danger label (6.1R) for class 6.1, that represents Hazard only (Additional Info RS/subsidiary risk), to model the UN number 1230 Methanol. This is because the main and subsidiary risks deviate from the danger labels in this case (main risk 3, subsidiary risk 6.1, danger label 3).

For more information about printing danger labels on reports, see the documentation for the Output Main and Subsidiary Risks and Danger Labels solution package.

For more information about printing danger labels on dangerous goods documents, see the Customizing activity Specify Output Conditions and Formatting Methods.
