GRPC_ENABLE_APPLOG - Enable Application Log

To troubleshoot Process Control, you might need to enable the GRPC Application Log. By default, this log is not enabled. Use the subobjects under the GRPC object to collect messages, exceptions, and errors:

Note: When enabling the GRPC Application Log, you may experience an impact to your server performance.
When a log becomes too large, you can delete it using the Application Log: Delete Obsolete Logs tool described below. Use this tool to avoid application log database table overflow. You can delete logs using the following options:
- Expiry Date
- General selection conditions
A log can only be deleted when it has expired (reached or passed its expiration date). However, you can delete logs before their expiration date if they have the Delete Before Expiry attribute.
1. Open the Enable GRPC Application Logs activity.
2. Click New Entries.
3. In the Subobject field, click on the Help search icon to display on a list of subobjects.
4. In the Sort field, enter the sequence of the subobject.
5. In the Entity ID, enter "*" or leave empty to enable logs for all entities. Or you can specify the value of an entity to enable that specific entity. Here is a list of all entities:

6. In the API Operation field, enter "*" or leave empty to enable logs for all operations. Or you can specify the value of an entity to enable that specific operation. Here is a list of all entities:

Deleting Logs |
---|
1. To delete the application logs, use transaction code, SLG2.
2. The dialog box Application Log: Delete Obsolete Logs appears. Select the appropriate radio button under Expiry Date.
3. Specify selection conditions.
4. Choose the relevant option.
5. Click the Execute icon. The logs are deleted from the database.
Note: To delete logs in the background, choose Delete Immediately option. Otherwise, only the number or list of logs you can delete is displayed.
