SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you maintain the analysis profile for a risk or an opportunity. This enables you to configure the risk analysis or opportunity analysis processing of the RM application on the basis of different risk or opportunity analysis profiles.

To display or change the individual settings of one line, double-click an analysis profile ID. The change mode opens and you can display or change the individual settings made for this profile. There are additional checkboxes in this section that are not displayed when you call up the Customizing activity in the overview screen, but which enable you to decide exactly what is to be displayed in the risk analysis screen of the application.

Note: The analysis profile selected influences all risk analyses created after the selection. Furthermore, if you have already assigned an analysis profile to the analysis of a risk, you can no longer change the profile you assigned.

Before being able to maintain the analysis profile, you must first have carried out the following Customizing activities:

You can specify the following analysis profile data in this Customizing activity:

  • Active
If you set the Active indicator, the profile is activated and ready for use. Note that you can only activate one profile.
  • Description
Enter a user-defined description of the analysis profile.
  • Probability
Select one of the following probability modes for risk analysis:
  • Qualitative: If you set this option, the probability appears as a dropdown list on the UI.
For this, you select the probability level from the list in the application.

  • Quantitative: If you set this option, the probability appears as an input field on the UI.
For this, you enter the probability percentage value in the application.

  • Scoring: If you set this option, you can evaluate the probability of a risk using numeric scores defined from a predefined numbering scale.
For this, you enter a score in the application.

  • Disabled: The probability does not appear on the UI.
Note: If the probability is disabled, the risk score equals the total impact score, and the risk level corresponds to the following formula:
Impact level x highest probability level value (at least one probability level must be maintained in Customizing).

  • Speed of Onset
If you set the indicator, you enable the display of the speed of onset in the application.
  • Quantitative Impact
If you set the indicator, the quantitative impact value is displayed in the application.
  • Qualitative Impact
If you set the indicator, the impact values appear in a dropdown list in the application and you can select the impact level.
  • Three-Point Analysis (TPA)
If you set the indicator, the impact value displays in the form of three input fields for specifying the minimum, maximum, and average values of impact.
  • Scoring
If you set the indicator, you specify that the scoring method is to be used to calculate the impact level.
  • Aggregation
Select the maximum, average, or summation type of aggregation to be used for calculation. Two aggregation methods are available:
  • Impact Aggregation Method: You specify how the impact of the risk is to be aggregated.

  • Risk Score Aggregation Method: You specify how the risk score is to be aggregated for the calculated probability and impact scores.

  • Impact Reduction
The residual risk is calculated on the basis of impact reduction of a risk after risk response. Note the following:
  • You can set the impact reduction indicator to enable or disable the display of the impact reduction option on the Responsetab of the Risk Management application.

  • If the impact reduction indicator is not set, the system does not calculate the value of the residual risk during residual risk analysis. However, you can still maintain this value manually in the Analysis tab of the application.

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. Enter a user-defined name for the analysis profile and a description for it.
  3. In the Analysis Mode section, select a probability and the speed of onset to be used with this profile.
  4. Select the type of impact to be used. Note that you can select more than one type.
  5. In the Calculation section, you select aggregation methods from the dropdown options as described above.
  6. Select whether Impact Reduction is to be applied, and whether the impact can be overwritten (field Overwrite Impact) in the application.
  7. In the Display section, select one or several of the options listed below, indicating what is to be displayed in the application:
  • Probability Level

  • Impact Level

  • Risk Level

  • Expected Loss

  • Analysis Comment

  • Speed of Onset

  • Risk Score

  1. Save your entry.
