You can enhance GTM contracts by free characteristics, and display or enter their content while creating the documents. Subsequently, this data is transferred to the related purchase order or sales order.

To apply free characteristics in GTM, you must have activated the business function ISR_GLT_CMMINTEG.

Perform the following settings and steps in the given sequence:

  1. To associate free characteristics with GTM contracts, the object WBHImust be associated with the standard object table in the Customizing under Cross-Application Components → Classification System → Classes → Maintain Object Types and Class Types.
  2. To get the associated class types, select object tableCMM_FCHAR_OBTAB,and Class Types.
  3. Select Objectsfor class type059.
  4. Assign object tableWBHIto class type059.
Class type059associated with the object table is used to maintain free characteristics. All entries made in object tableCMM_FCHAR_OBTAB are important, since they link the free characteristics to Commodity Management.
Note, that this customizing is also provided with switch BC set CMM_GTM_FCHAR_INTEG_1809_01.
  5. To create a class of type 059, which will be linked to objectWBHI, run transaction Create Class (CL01).
  6. In this class, you can specify free characteristics to make them available by default.
For example, the characteristics ‘PORTFOLIO’ and ‘STRATEGY’ are predefined to be shown on the Free Characteristics tab in the GTM contract.
  7. To link the class to objectWBHIfor the GTM contract, perform the settings in the Customizing under Logistics - General → Commodity Management → Analytics → Free Characteristics → Define Default Class and Valuation.

Now, the setup is complete, and the free characteristics can be used in GTM documents (transactions WB21/WB22).
