In this Customizing activity, you define which pension reasons are to be available for selection in ESS Pension Information. These depend on the employee group and subgroup of the relevant public sector employee, and which pension reason is to be preset in ESS.

In the ESS pension information, the public sector employee should only be offered pension reasons that are relevant for them according to their organizational assignment (employee group and subgroup from infotype 0001). The descriptions of the reasons should also be suitable for their organizational assignment.

In the “Define ESS Pension Reasons” node, you first define all possible pension reasons with reference to the relevant pension reason in pension administration (VADM). You can also reference the same VADM pension reason in several ESS pension reasons, for example, to specify it with different texts for specific employee groups and subgroups.

In the "Select Employee Group and Subgroup” node, which cannot be changed, select the employee group-employee subgroup combination to which you can then assign ESS pension reasons in the subnode "Assign ESS Pension Reasons". This is where you specify which of the possible pension reasons is to be preset in ESS.
