Configure Harmonized Document Management (HDM) for business applications.

This customizing allows you to activate the Harmonized Document Management (HDM) functionality for business applications. You can activate the supported document frameworks and maintain the default and restricted document types for an attachment object type. The attachment object type uniquely identifies the SAP object type or SAP object node type.

  1. To activate/deactivate the HDM functionality for an attachment object type, perform the following steps:
    1. In the Change View "Activate HDM for Attachment Object Types": Overview screen, select Attachment Object Type and Activate. To deactivate HDM, clear the flag in Activate.
    2. Click Save.
  2. To activate the document frameworks for an attachment object type, perform the following steps:
    1. In the Change View "Activate HDM for Attachment Object Types": Overview screen, select one or more attachment object types and navigate to the Activate Document Frameworksconfiguration step. The Change View "Activate Document Frameworks": Overview screen is displayed.
    2. Deactivate a document framework, if required.
    3. Click Save.
  3. After activating the document frameworks for the attachment object type, you can maintain the restricted document types for each document framework, if required. You can also maintain the default document type for an attachment object type. To do this:
    1. Select one or more entries from the Change View “Activate Document Frameworks”: Overview screen and click on the Maintain Default and Restricted Document Typesconfiguration step. The Change View “Maintain Default and Restricted Document Types”: Overviewscreen is displayed.
    2. Select the Restrictedflag for the document types that you want to restrict.
    3. Select the Default flag to indicate the default document type for an attachment object type.

Note: You can maintain only one document type as the default document type for an attachment object type irrespective of the document framework.
