In this IMG activity you define the characteristics of a form field for the user interface.

Meaning, depending on the form scenario step, you determine the field attributes for each field that you use in an interactive form. You can choose between the following field attributes:

  • Visible, can be edited, not a mandatory field
  • Not visible
  • Not ready for input
  • Mandatory field

The field characteristics only come into effect when the field attributes are evaluated using scripting in the interactive form.

For detailed information about processing forms and about scripting, see SAP Library: HR Administrative Services -> HCM Processes and Forms -> ISR Scenario-> Configuration of ISR Scenario -> Creating and Processing an Interactive Form.

If you have not defined any field characteristics for a form field of a scenario step, or use an existing form scenario for which you could not define any field attributes for its form fields, the system uses the following implicit field characteristics:

  • If you have assigned a form field to a form scenario step, but have not defined any attributes for this field, the attribute visible, can be edited, not a mandatory field is used for this field.
  • If you have not assigned a form field to a form scenario step and the form field was not used in previous scenario steps, the attribute not visible is used for this field. This allows form fields that are not relevant for a particular scenario step to be automatically hidden.
  • If you have not assigned a form field to a form scenario step but this form field was used in a previous scenario step, the field is automatically assigned to this form scenario step. The attribute not ready for input is used for this field.

For each scenario step, determine the field characteristics for the form fields.

This IMG node is not available in future releases. If for your project you need IMG documentation for your Customizing settings, create it directly in the view cluster by choosing Creating a Form Scenario -> UI Attributes.
