In this work step, you store an implementation of the BAdI HRAS00PROCESS_REF_NUM (Create Reference Numbers for Processes) for the pattern you want to use to format the reference numbers for processes.

The BAdI uses the Pattern ID variable as a filter value. If a process is started, this variable is filled at runtime with the pattern ID that you assigned to the process. The BAdI thus creates the reference number according to your requirements in the implementation and assigns the number to the process.

In the standard system, SAP delivers the implementation HRASR00PROCESS_REF_NUM (Reference Number of Process). This uses the pattern ID HRASR_DEF as a filter value. The implementation returns 12-digit numeric reference numbers.

Store an implementation for each pattern ID that you assigned to a process. Use the relevant pattern ID as a filter value.

Note

The maximum length of a reference number is 32 characters. You can also include letters. You can only use capital letters.
