HRMSS_UI5_METADATA - Configure Metadata for Key Performance Indicators

In this Customizing activity, you define the properties and the settings for the key performance indicators (KPIs) that you want to display on the KPI lane.

In addition to the current value, each KPI consists of a series of user interface elements that display the status and the trend values of the relevant KPI. The user interface elements differ depending on whether the KPI is displayed on the lane or the expanded lane.

In the Customizing activity Configure Launchpads for Analytics Lanes, you have defined for the launchpad of the KPI lane which KPIs you want to display and have assigned each of them a unique key performance indicator ID. You need these IDs here to assign the metadata to the key performance indicator. You have also defined a description there that is displayed on the expanded lane in the quickview for the KPI.

Use the field help to display additional information about the input fields.

1. Choose New Entries.
2. To identify the key performance indicator uniquely, enter the role and the instance of the KPI launchpad, as well as the KPI ID.
3. Under General, enter the names of the KPI on the user interface and the information about calculating and displaying the KPI. Enter the link to the OData service that the system uses to read the data for the KPI from the source system.
4. Under Source System, enter the system type and client for the system from which the data is read.
5. Under Current Value, enter the parameters that are required to display the current value of the KPI.
6. Under Trend Reference Value, enter the parameters that are required to calculate the reference value for displaying the trend of the KPI on the lane.

Note

If you do not enter any parameters for the trend reference value, the trend for the KPI is not displayed.

1. Under Trend Chart, enter the parameters that are required to display the trend chart of the KPI on the expanded lane. Enter the parameters for up to three chart values that are displayed together with the current value in the trend chart.

Note

If you do not enter any parameters for the chart values, the trend chart for the KPI is not displayed.

1. Under Threshold, enter one or two threshold values and select a color order in order to display the relative position of the KPI value in a color graphic on the quickview for the KPI.

Note

If you do not enter any threshold values or a color order, the graphic is not displayed on the quickview.

1. Save your entries.
