In this Customizing activity, you map custom fields from Employee Central to fields of infotypes in the Employee Central Payroll system.

The relevant custom fields in Employee Central are activated.

The replication of employee master and time data from Employee Central to the Employee Central Payroll system is set up.

Master Data Replication

The following examples refer to infotypes fields that already exist in the Employee Central Payroll system. Note that you can also define user-defined fields as mapping target.

Mapping of Employee Central custom field to field NAMZ2 of Infotype Personal Data (0002)

In the Employee Central Payroll system, the target field is Other Title (NAMZ2) in the Birth Data frame of infotype 0002 (Personal Data).

Activate a new custom field in Employee Central:

1. Go to Admin Center and select Manage Business Configuration.
2. Select the node jobinfo.
3. Activate a custom field, for example, custom_string5. Enter a name. Select the suitable section, in this case “Job Information (jobInfo_jobFieldsList)".
4. Restrict the field length to the length of the target field: 15 characters because the length of the target field NAMZ2 is 15.
5. Enter the following data to map the field custom_string5 with the field NAMZ2:

Node_name Element_name Infotype Field name

Personal_information custom_string5 0002 NAMZ2

Mapping of Employee Central custom field to field SACHZ of IT 0001

The target field is 'Time Recording Administrator' ( SACHZ) in the Administrator frame of infotype 0001 (Organizational Assignment).

1. section (for example, custom_string6). Restrict the field length to that of the target field. In this case, to 3 characters (target field SACHZ).
2. Enter the following data to map the field custom_string6 to the field SACHZ:

Node_name Element_name Infotype Field name

job_information custom_string6 0001 SACHZ

Mapping of Employee Time custom field to a standard field of IT 2001

This example illustrates how to use extensibility for Employee Central Time objects that are replicated to infotype 2001.

You can define customer-specific fields in Employee Central Payroll. However, customer-specific fields may be configured in the Employee Central Time system, and then replicated to a standard field of infotype 2001.

1. Activate a new custom field in Employee Central.

Go to Admin Center and select Configure Object Definition.

Example: Enter cust_DescriptionOfIllness as name field. Choose type String. The database field name can be customFields.customField2. Restrict the field length to the length of the target field. In this case, restrict it to 20 characters (target field UMSCH "Description of illness").

1. Select EmployeeTime for "Employee Central Node Name".
2. Select cust_DescriptionOfIllness for EC Element Name from the value help. Select the field cust_DescriptionOfIllness. This value help is special for object EmployeeTime.
3. Specify 2001 for Infotpye 2001. Note that only 2001 is allowed for the EmployeeTime object.
4. Select UMSCH for Field Name. The rest of the values correspond to the allowed field names of infotype 2001.
