In this step, you maintain the payroll-relevant attributes of compensation plans on a country-specific basis. By doing so, you make sure that the compensation amounts are written to the correct wage types on activation of infotype Compensation Process (0759). Depending on the compensation category, the amounts are stored on either infotype Basic Pay (0008), Additional Payments (0015) or Off-Cycle Payments (0267), and eventually retrieved by the payroll driver for further processing.

Note

This activity is exclusively intended for non LTI plans. To define the payroll attributes of LTI plans, perform the activity Assign LTI Plan Payroll Data instead. In this case, the data is stored on infotype LTI Grant (0761).

You must have:

  • Implemented the relevant payroll components successfully and configured your wage types correctly, especially in table Base Wage Type Valuation (T539J), as far as the calculation base is concerned.

Determine which wage types have to be valuated per payroll component.

  1. Select the relevant compensation area and country grouping.
  2. Click New entries.
  3. Select the relevant compensation plan.
  4. Delimit your record.
  5. Specify the component wage type that is used for storing the amount of the compensation plan.
  • As far as salary adjustments are concerned, this field is optional. If filled, infotype Basic Pay (0008) is updated on activation with the wage type you have specified. If left empty, the first wage type of the existing record in the above-mentioned infotype is used. This allows you to process employees with different base pay wage types but with the same compensation area and plan.

  • For bonus plans, however, this field is required.

  1. Specify the calculation base.
  • For salaried employees, you could assign wage type Compensation Management Salary (CSAL) to one or more base wage types for valuation purposes, for example Salary (M003). This field is optional. However, if no calculation base wage type is provided, the compensation can only be specified as a flat amount, not as a percentage.

  • For hourly paid workers, no wage type is used. The calculation base, that is, the sum of all wage types, is read from infotype Basic Pay (0008).

  1. For off-cycle compensation, you can specify a reason that is stored on the relevant infotype (0267) on activation.
  2. Save your entries.
