SAP E-Book

In this step, you assign values to guideline matrices. During the compensation process, the default amounts, percentages or numbers you have defined are suggested in Manager Self-Service and eventually stored in infotype Compensation Process (0759), unless the line manager decides to change them. If you specify upper and lower limits, the values provided in Manager Self-Servicewill be checked against them.

Depending on the length of service and appraisal results, a line manager allowed to grant 120 awards (default number) to his or her employees. He/she could perfectly increase or decrease the number of awards during the compensation process, but only up or down to the specified limits (60 and 140 awards, respectively).

You must have performed the activities Define Guideline Matrices, and, if applicable, Define Stock Units.

The SAP System is shipped with sample values.

Determine the default values that apply to each segment, as well as the lower and upper limits used for checking purposes.

  1. Select the relevant compensation area and guideline matrix, whereafter the matrix dimensions are displayed.
  2. To assign values to each segment, choose New entries.
  3. Specify the segment(s).
  4. Delimit the record.
  5. Depending on the type of compensation, you can specify either a default amount, percentage or number, as well as the upper and lower limits. For amounts and numbers, you also need to specify the currency and stock unit, respectively.
  6. Save your entries.

You can now use the newly created matrices in the step Define Guidelines.
