SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you specify how ENterprise Compensation Management user interfaces that comprise groups of fields are displayed in your enterprise. This affects, for example, the short profile and compensation profile.

If you specify customer configurations, you can specify which fields are to be displayed in which sequence. You can also give the following layout information:

  • Field label
You can enter your own field labels that overwrite the standard field label.
  • Start a new group
You can group fields. The groups are displayed as follows:
  • In the short profile, they are separated by a blank row, meaning that the groups are arranged under each other.

  • In the header area, there is a new column for each new group, meaning that the groups are arranged next to each other.

  • Group header
You can give the individual field groups titles. You must assign the group headers to the first field of a field group. However, the group header is not displayed in the header area of the talent profile.
  • Display in table format
You can specify that the field label is displayed in a separate row with the list of values below it.
  • Hide empty fields
You can specify whether a field is to be displayed even if it does not have any content. For more information, see Hide Field Without Value.
Note
All fields or columns that you add are displayed in addition to the fields or columns available in the standard SAP system.
The following applies to the short profiles:
  • The system always displays the employee's name and photo in the short profile.

  • The fields that are specified in the configuration for the corresponding short profile (for example, Salary, Employment Fraction, Pay Scale Type, and Pay Scale Group) are displayed below the employee's name.

The system displays the first field of the configuration (the salary in this example) directly below the employee name and without a field label. It displays the remaining fields (in this example: Employment Fraction, Pay Scale Type, and Pay Scale Group) below the first field and with field labels.
Even if all of these fields belong to the same field group (in this example, the Compensation Data field group comprises all four fields), the first field is displayed outside of the field group and directly below the employee's name. The title of the field group is displayed above the second field (in the example, above the Employment Fraction field).

If you want to use your own fields in customer configurations, you must add these fields to the field selection catalog. For more information, see Add Fields to Field Selection Catalog.

The standard system contains standard configurations that follow the SAP_* naming convention.

  1. Create a configuration in the customer namespace for each user interface that you want to adjust to meet your requirements.
  2. Assign the fields that are to be displayed to the configuration and define the sequence of these fields, if required also specify additional layout information.
  3. Assign your configuration to the correspondingn Web Dynpro component configuration (example: HCM_ECM_PROFILE_ACC or HCM_ECM_SIDEBYSIDE_ACC).

You want to display the same fields in the short profile as in the standard system, but without group headers. Copy the standard configuration SAP_COMPENSATION_PROFILE to the customer namespace. Delete the group headers for your customer configuration.
