In this IMG activity, you use the switch CPCFG JCEPS to specify whether the pooling mechanism of the Java Connector should be used for RFC accesses by the Content Player to the SAP system.
The value X means that the pooling mechanism should be used for accesses to the SAP system. The following applies:
- Connections to the SAP system that have been set up and authenticated are stored in a pool.
- When a function module is called, one of the existing connections is used.
The value
In the switch CPCFG JCOMC, you specify the maximum number of connections in a pool of the Java Connector.
Note the following:
- If the value is too low, it may happen that RFC accesses of the Content Player to the SAP system are blocked or fail because there are no connections free.
- If the value is too high, it may happen that all RFC accesses to the SAP are occupied and no more connections may be opened.
In the standard system, the switch CPCFG JCEPS is activated and the size of the pool is 50 connections.
- As far as possible, you should not change the value of the switch CPCFG JCEPS, since activating the switch speeds up the RFC accesses and considerably improves the performance of the Content Player. SAP recommends that you always activate this switch.
- Only change the pool size if it is absolutely necessary. SAP recommends a pool size of 50 connections.
