Define ICMR elimination methods for generating elimination-related postings.

In Intercompany Matching and Reconciliation(ICMR), you define an elimination method by assigning reconciliation case and posting scenario to it. In this way, when running elimination, the elimination posting logic defined in the posting rule applies to the specified display groups of the reconciliation case.

Later, the elimination method can be assigned to an elimination task of Consolidation Monitor for triggering elimination runs.

Before defining elimination methods, the following prerequisites must be met:

  • You have created reconciliation cases by using the Define Reconciliation Casesapp.
  • You have created scenario-based posting rules by using the Define Posting Rulesapp.

Follow the procedure below to create an elimination method:

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. Specify ID and description of the elimination method.
  3. Assign a reconciliation case, which is used to restrict data entries the elimination method applies.
Note that only the reconciliation cases relevant for reconciliation close process are available. These reconciliation cases are set as Active using Activate Reconciliation Close Processconfiguration step (SSCUI).
  1. Assign an automatic posting scenario, which represents the intercompany reconciliation context and determines the available posting rules later to be assigned on display group level.
  2. Select the elimination method and go to the Settings subpage to map posting rules to display groups.
  3. Choose New Entries, select a display group of the reconciliation case you specified above, and assign the desired posting rule to it. You can make more assignments of posting rules to display groups if necessary. In this way, different posting logics can be applied to the different data entries restricted by display groups.
  4. Save your entries.
