In this Customizing activity, you specify primary keys for a report section. The primary key can be used in the background as an internal key to identify the key row for the following purposes:

  • To identify a value quickly
  • To collect values for cross-check
For more information about the cross-checking rules and process, see the documentation of the Customizing activity Define Cross-Check Rules.

A primary key can consist of more than one column in the data dictionary structure. In this case, you need to group the columns by creating a key group and assigning all the columns to it.

To do so, proceed as follows:

  1. On the Key Groupscreen, enter a key group ID and a description, indicate whether the values will be used as an internal key, and choose a character separator.
  2. Select the row and double-click the Key Group Columns.
  3. On the Key Group Columnsscreen, enter the column names and the sequential number of the columns in which order you want the data to be displayed.
