In this IMG activity you specify the work area types that exist in your company.

To map the hierarchy relationships between the work area types, assign hierarchy indicators to the work area types: the lowest hierarchy level is given the highest number and the highest hierarchy level the lowest.

The standard system is delivered with the following work area types:

  • Corporate group
  • Company
  • Location

In addition to these "conventional" work area types, the work area types pattern (PT) and collective pattern (CP) are preset. These allow you to enter standardized exposure profiles and risk assessments for frequently occurring activities and work areas (for example, welding, PC workplace). You can assign patterns and collective patterns to any number of "real" work areas.

Patterns and collective patterns are not included in the work area hierarchy and do not, therefore, have a hierarchy indicator.

The shipped patterns are entered as default values of the environment parameters IHS_PATTERN_TYPE (work area type pattern) and IHS_ACCUPATTERN_TYPE (work area type collective pattern). If you want to use other work area types as patterns, you must adapt the values of the environment parameters in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools under Specify Environment Parameters.

Check the standard settings and change them if necessary.

Do not assign duplicate hierarchy indicators.
