In this Customizing activity, you define actions for tasks sent from specific back-end systems that deviate from the default actions.

This step is only relevant if you use the inbox in a multiple back-end landscape and if there are exceptions to the default handling, as defined in the Customizing activity Define Tasks and Actions. This step is not required if your tasks in all connected systems are identical. For example, a task with the same task ID behaves the same way in every system in which it exists.

The entries you create in this activity must refer to a default setting. These entries overrule the corresponding entries in the default tables, except for the destination ID, as this does not exist in the default tables.

The local system is always defined as the default system.

The exceptions apply to the default settings defined in the Customizing activity Define Tasks and Actions.

To create or change an exception for tasks, proceed as follows:

  1. Perform the activity. On the Choose Activity screen, select Define Exceptions for Destinations.
  2. Choose New Entries.
  3. Enter the following information:
  • Application:
    POWL application ID

  • Workflow Task ID:
Task ID for which you want to define the default action.

  • Task Compl:
Enter an 'X' if the entry is for a completed task, otherwise leave the field empty. You can create two different entries for each task, one for the completed task, one for the task that is not completed.

  • RFC Destination:
RFC destination of the system to which the exception applies.

  • Action Name:
Default action that must be performed when the document is accessed directly using the link in the work item.

  • Notes:
Enter an 'X' if you want notes to be displayed for this task ID, otherwise leave the field empty.

  • Attchmt:
Enter an 'X' if attachments must be displayed for this task ID, otherwise leave the field empty.

  1. Save your entries.

Note:

If this customizing table contains an entry for a specific task in a back-end system, the system ignores any entry for this task in table IBO_C_WF_TAC if the corresponding work item comes from that destination.

To define an exception in the back-end system for an action that is assigned to a task, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. Enter the following information:
  • Application:
    POWL application ID

  • Workflow Task ID:
Task ID to which you want to assign an action.

  • Task Completed:
Enter an 'X' if the entry is for a completed task, otherwise leave the field empty.

  • RFC Destination:
RFC destination of the system to which this exception applies.

  • Exclude:
Enter an 'X' if you do not want this action to be enabled for this task in the back-end system.

  1. Save your entries.

Note:

If this customizing table contains an entry for an action of a specific task, all entries for this task in the system table IBO_C_WF_TTAS or in table IBO_C_WF_TTAE are ignored if the task comes from the specified destination. All other entries are still used.
