From the IP data you can generate master data (material master data, purchasing info records, and condition records).

The values that are not part of the IP data but are required to create master data are read from the relevant profiles and included.

The IP data transmitted from the manufacturer has been imported into the IP database.

Execute the activity steps in the following sequence:

  1. Maintain interface between IP data and material master data
Define for all users how certain fields in a master data table should be filled. To do this you can
  • copy fields from an IP data record directly to fields in a master data table.

  • call a function module to calculate the field value for the master data table. (You can use function module ADSPC_IP_CONV_EINA_MEINS as an example).

  • assign a constant to the master data table.

  1. Maintain IP profile
    1. Create your own profile using your user name. Enter a four-character abbreviation and a description for each profile you create.
If you have created more than one profile, select one as the "default".
  1. Select "your" profile and maintain the key fields and values of IP profiles.
In the upper part of the screen select the views for the material master data that should be created or changed when using this profile.
In the lower part of the screen maintain the organizational data for the master data to be created.
  1. Maintain the profile values for fields in master data
For each field in a master data table you can maintain a default value (Example: Unit of Measure EA in field MARA-MEINS; material type HERB in field MARA_MTART)
To get the names of the tables and fields, in the required master data maintenance call F1-help for the field. The required details are displayed under "Technical Information".
  1. Maintain the display fields for creating material master from IP
You can display selected material master fields so that you can compare them with IP data that may have changed.
