SAP E-Book

In this activity you set up the order codes and their priority rules that the CMC uses when scheduling and prioritizing PM/CS orders, refurbishment orders and their associated operations.

This activity has two steps:

  • Choose PM/CS Order Code
In this step, you create the order codes and determine the calculation method for the priority values and determine the type of buffer distribution. A proportional stretch factor has the value 0 or blank; a progressive stretchfactor has a value greater than 0.
If the SAP-defined priority rules in the Priority Key field do not meet your requirements, you can use the SAP business add-in (BADI) for Customer-Specific Priority Rules to determine your own.
  • Maintain Priority Settings on Order Code Level
In the second step, you determine a variety of parameters to be used for the order code. You can define up to 99 different priority values. You also determine the alert setting parameters on operation level to be used in the buffer calculation. The displayed fields depend on the PrioKey assigned to the selected order code, and are either for a time-based or a stock-based prioritization.
If the SAP-defined Comparison Stock do not meet your requirements, you can use the following SAP BADIs to determine your own:

You implement this BADI for an unserviceable stock-driven priority for which you want to compare actual unserviceable stock against a customer append field in the material master.

You implement this BADI for a serviceable stock-driven priority for which you want to compare actual serviceable stock against a customer append field in the material master.
Current Settings: Priority Rules on Work Center Level
You can determine priority settings either per plant or per work center on order code level. If you want to determine settings for individual work centers, you have to do this in a productive system, because the required data is only available there. For this reason, this Customizing activity has been flagged with the Current settingsindicator to allow users to access it from the SAP Easy Accessmenu under Plant Maintenance or Customer Service (Maintenance Processing or Service Processing-> Rotables Management -> Component Maintenance Cockpit-> Current Settings).
Note that this is only intended to enter work center-specific priority settings, although all parts of the functionality can also be changed. For this reason, only selected users should have the necessary authorization to perform this function. Generally, priority settings on plant level should be sufficient.

Recommendation

If you want to display some orders in the CMC without using the scheduling and prioritization functions, we recommend you set up a blank order code with a standard PrioKey. You do not determine priority rules for a blank order code.

If you set up an order code for express parts, we recommend that you set a fixed priority value.

In the case of an order code for orders with due dates, we recommend that you do not select automatic scheduling, as the CMC reschedules orders with this indicator irrespective of the actual due dates.

If you decide to activate real-time mode (RTM) for an order code, we recommend that you set mimimum operation and order durations as well. This ensures that the CMC does not recalculate the alert settings for operations that have extremely short durations and for which you only expect one final confirmation.

Activities

Choose PM/CS Order Code

  1. Create a new order code by choosing a new entry.
  2. Determine the settings you require.
  3. Save the order code.

Maintain Priority Settings on Order Header Level

  1. Select the order code for which you want to determine priority settings.
  2. In the Dialog Structure, choose Maintain Priority Settings on Order Code Level.
  3. Determine the parameter values.
  4. Save your settings.
