You can use the Business Add-In (BAdI) RL_ACCT_POSTING to influence the automatic returnable packaging account posting. Automatic returnable packaging account posting always directly follows material posting.

All the data for material posting is available in the BAdI. Depending on this data, you can make customer-specific changes to the account posting type or the exchange partner. In addition, you can stop the system from executing the current returnable packaging account posting.

  • In the standard system, the Business Add-In is not active.
  • The Business Add-In is not intended for multiple use.

For information about the implementation of BAdIs in the context of the Enhancement Concept, see SAP Library for SAP NetWeaver under BAdIs - Embedding in the Enhancement Framework.

To activate the Business Add-In, you must create an active implementation.

If you send packaging in the delivery, the system usually tries to find the correct RP account by using the 'ship-to party'. There can be exceptions, however, where the system must update the account of the 'sold-to party'. In this case, you can use this BAdI to adjust the exchange partner according to the requirements.

In the plants 1000 and 2000, the same packaging subject to an RP account was used. However, RP account postings should only be updated in plant 1000. You can use this BAdI to prevent the system from creating RP account postings for material postings in plant 2000. This does not affect material postings in plant 1000.
