Sample documents are example document types intended to help you to define your own document types that are suited to your requirements. Thus, although samples (for specialized uses) are made as 'good' as possible, as opposed to default documents they do not, however, pretend to be complete and perfect.

Generated objects can be shipped to sample documents by transport. If no generated objects are shipped, the fields are not filled with the names of the generated objects. You then have to generate the objects on your system.

Samples must not be used in a live system. Each attempt to save a document triggers an alert.

If you wish to create your own document category from the sample document category, you have to create a copy on your development client and adapt it to your needs. The copy is then a document category within your responsibility and is not changed if SAP changes or corrects the sample document category.
