ISHMED_PKMS_05 - Connect Goals, Problems and Diagnoses with PKMS Reasons

This document concerns nursing complex procedure scores (German: PKMS), which are relevant for the country version Germany only. In this IMG activity you connect the existing nursing diagnoses, nursing problems and nursing goals (e.g. from the in-house catalog or from the standards used by NANDA, for example) with the PKMS reasons.

The aim of this is that users do not need to work with new content arising from PKMS terminology, but can build on the known and familiar terminology of the clinic. To achieve this you must connect each PKMS-relevant basic catalog entry from the nursing diagnoses, nursing problems and nursing goals areas with a corresponding value from a basic catalog of the PKMS reasons area.

You should note that this mapping is usually executed by a system administrator in close cooperation with the nursing direction representative.

The following basic catalogs must be available:

• corresponding basic catalogs for nursing diagnoses, nursing problems and nursing goals (in-house catalogs or standard catalogs)

• a basic catalog of the "PKMG - PKMS Reasons" catalog type

No standard mapping is supplied.
Only a sample implementation for the PKMS reasons is available. This is available as a BC set, which you can import into your system.

Execute the following activities:

1. In Customizing call the IMG activity Manage Basic Catalogs. You have the following options:

• under Industry-Specific Component Clinical System -> Cross-Application Settings -> Basic Catalogs Manage Basic Catalogs.

• under Industry-Specific Component Clinical System -> Nursing Process Documentation -> Nursing Complex Procedure Scores (PKMS) -> Catalogs -> Connect Goals, Problems and Diagnoses with PKMS Reasons

• alternatively using transaction N1BCCATDEF

1. Choose the corresponding basic catalog of the "DIAGN - Nursing Diagnoses", "PROB - Nursing Problems" or "TARG - Nursing Goals" catalog type.
2. For the highest hierarchy level, check whether a connection with a basic catalog of the "PKMG - PKMS Reasons" catalog type already exists on the Catalog Assignment Definitions tab page. If this is not the case, choose the Create Assignment Definition pushbutton to create the corresponding connection.
3. For the corresponding nursing diagnoses, nursing problems or nursing goals of the lower hierarchy groups, choose the PKMS Reasons tab page.
   Use the Assign Item pushbutton to create the connection to entries from the basic catalog of the "PKMG - PKMS Reasons" catalog type.

You should note that you can use more than one PKMS reason, in particular if the selected nursing diagnosis, nursing problem or nursing goal is valid for more than one PKMS age group (adult, adolescent, children).

1. Save your entry and repeat this procedure until all relevant nursing diagnoses, nursing problems or nursing goals are connected with a corresponding PKMS reason.
