In this customizing activity, you first determine the system parameters for the service category related to the outpatient admission fee, and define the fees for outpatient admissions.

The system parameters enable you to maintain the service category for the outpatient fees specific to the Chinese hospitals.

In China, in the outpatient area, patients have to pay an admission fee before the treatment.

The clerk asks the patient for the admission fee, collects the money and prints out a receipt for the patient.

Usually, admission fees consist in the following:

• a registration fee (to be covered by the self-payer (patient))

• a consultation fee (typically covered by BMI)

Some hospitals only charge the consultation fee, not the registration fee. In general, the consultation fee has a fixed price in the hospitals and the registration fee varies according to the following attributes :

• Type of admission such as general outpatient, outpatient service on holiday

• Organizational unit such as cardiology outpatient, cardiology expert outpatient

• Type of doctor such as professor, chief physician, co-chief physician etc.

• Doctor: in some hospitals, the fees vary according to the doctor. This attribute is required when the patient requires expert outpatient admission.

For special visit and expert visit, the outpatient must specify the doctor's name. For other visit type, specying the name of the doctor is optional. This customizing activity enables you to define the doctor's rank.

The admission fee for outpatient is always fixed, and is only charged once for each case. The charge relies on the different visit types such as Doctor ID, Expat visit, Holiday visit etc.

To maintain the services categories, you have to define the services parameters. Then, you must define the fees according to the rules that apply to your hospital.

Lee has gastropathy disease, and always goes to the hospital to consult Doctor Wang.

Firstly, when Lee arrives in the hospitals, he goes directly to the outpatient admission desk and asks for an expert admission.

The admission clerk creates an outpatient case with visit type Expert Admission, assigns Doctor Wang as physician to the case, and maintains the treatment OU and department OU, and finally saves the case.

As Chief Doctor, Doctor Wang charges 100 RMB for consultation. In the hospitals, Doctor Wang always charges 6 RMB for admission per case. You have customized these fees in table V_TNAFD.

The Consultation fee(100RMB) and the Admission fee (6 RMB) are automatically generated when the clerk saves the outpatient case. Lee must pay the bill before his consultation with doctor Wang.
