SAP E-Book

In this step, you transfer the Italian postal data on streets into the system.

You should already have copied the cities and postal codes into the system.

Before you perform this step, we recommend that you create the following indexes:

  • An index on table JSTORTPRO containing the fields LAND1 and ORT_NAME_L
  • An index on table JSTSTRPRO containing the fields LAND1 and STR_NAME_L

You should delete these two indexes again after the postal data has been transferred.

Execute the program as follows:

  1. Enter the following data:
  • Country

  • File names of street files

  • File name of substitution rule for street categories (optional)

  • Number of records for database commit

  • Code page start

  • Code page destination

  • Version data (version number, year, month, day) of the file imported

  1. Choose Execute.

You can restart the program at any time.

The file for the substitution rule for street categories (optional): you should use this file to determine how the texts for street categories are to be replaced with corresponding abbreviations. The abbreviations should contain no more than 10 characters. The file must be a text file and contain the following fields:

  • DUG of street file (without brackets): 50 characters

  • DUG abbreviation : 10 characters

  • Status : 1 character

  • Line break identifier

Examples of substitution rules
VIA VIA
VIA DELLE VIA
VIA DIETRO VIA
INTERRATO - E

The status can either be blank or an 'E'.
In the latter case, the record is listed in the error log and not transferred.

If there is no substitution file specified, the texts for the street categories are shortened automatically to 10 characters.
If you want to include the street category in the name of the street, you must define this using user exit EXIT_SAPLJSS6_001. For more information, see the documentation on enhancement JSCAP001.

After street transfer has taken place, you should work through the log, since there are some records that the program cannot transfer.
The following types of records are not transferred:

  • The region or postal code is missing from the record or the postal code format is incorrect.
  • Streets in which a city is specified explicitly and where this specification does not begin with a '-'.
  • Streets for which the corresponding city does not exist.
  • Streets with a house number range that could not be decoded.

You must enter these errored records manually.
