You use this Customizing activity if you want to use a different form of UI rendering technology (for example, display as a Web Dynpro form instead of a PDF form) for your Web Dynpro application. To do so, you have to generate a Web Dynpro component for the relevant Web Dynpro application and then assign it to the form type.

If you have changed the names of characteristics used in a form, you can also use this Customizing activity to update the existing Web Dynpro component.

Generation of Web Dynpro Tables
In addition to the generation of single fields for Web Dynpro forms, you can also group fields and provide them as a table in Web Dynpro forms. You create such a Web Dynpro table by assigning a table name in each of the respective fields in the activity Define Forms below TRM Fields Attributes in the field Table Name.

Ensure the following for the generation of Web Dynpro tables:

  • To generate the Web Dynpro table, you must use the template FMCA_WD_FORM_TAB_TEMPLATE.
  • The ID of fields used in Web Dynpro tables must include a prefix.
  • The Customizing settings for fields that are defined in multiple views must be consistent for all views used. The table to be generated must be assigned in each view used for a field.
  • Assign a leading view in the field View for Description before you execute the form generation.

For more information, see Examples for Web Dynpro Table Generation .

  1. You have defined an ISR scenario. For more information, see Define Forms.
  2. You have created your Web Dynpro component. To do so, call transaction se80 change to the Web Dynpro Comp./Intf. view and copy FMCA_WDY_FORM_UI_TEMPLATE to the Web Dynpro you want to create (for example, FMCA_WDY_FORM_UI_SUET).
Use the template FMCA_WD_FORM_TAB_TEMPLATEwhen you generate Web Dynpro tables.
In TTF enabled scenarios, you can enable the comment function for forms in the activity Define Forms. In this case, form generation also includes the corresponding entities in your Web Dynpro component. You can also use phaseless forms for TTF enabled scenarios.
Observe the limitation of the regeneration function once you have changed to phaseless forms and form comments.

  1. Enter the name of the component you have just copied.
  2. Specify the scenario data.
Note: Descriptions of form fields can be different for each view. That is why you can indicate the view with the relevant description. To check the description, call the Define Forms activity, navigate to the desired scenario/version/form view field and double-click on it.
  3. If applicable: Indicate the options for updating the existing Web Dynpro component.
  4. Execute the program.
The program adds all the fields you entered in the Internal Services Request and maps them to the corresponding Web Dynpro controllers.
  5. If you have created a new Web Dynpro component: Assign your Web Dynpro component to the relevant form type. To do so, choose the Customizing activity Define Form Types.
