You execute this activity if you want to make data of ISR forms available for analysis in the Business Warehouse (BI) system.

To create a DataSource for an ISR scenario, do the following:

  1. Mark the fields of your ISR scenario that you want to extract as BI-relevant. Only BI-relevant fields are extracted to BI. You do so in Customizing activity Define Forms by choosing view TRM Fields Attributes for the desired field/version/scenario. After you have marked the field, the system will automatically propose the corresponding field name in the extract structure. You can change the logic for proposing field names by implementing event P343.
    Note:
The field names in the BI extract structure cannot contain more than 16 characters but this is possible for the field names in an ISR scenario. Therefore field names in the BI extract structure might deviate from field names in the ISR scenario definition.
  2. Generate the extract structure and DataSource for your ISR form by executing the current Customizing activity. After you have specified the ISR scenario for which you want to create a DataSource and indicated the function group for the extractor, the system automatically suggests the names of the objects to be generated. You can change the logic for suggesting the object names by implementing event P344. The objects to be generated are:
    1. Extract structure
    2. Include in the extract structure containing all the fields of the ISR scenario to be extracted. The name of this include must start with CI_FPF_FORM_FIELDS or SI_FPF_FORM_FIELDS.
    3. Extractor that is responsible for Full-Upload and Delta-Init w/o data.
    4. DataSource

      Note:
The TOP-Include of the function group for the extractor must include the TYPE-POOL SBIWA.
  3. Postprocess the created DataSource using transaction RSA6 and deselect the Hide field option for the fields you want to analyze in your BI system.
  4. After the DataSource is created, you must assign it to the ISR scenario. You do so in Customizing activity Define Forms by choosing view Version, then selecting pushbutton Additional Data for Scenario and then entering the name of the DataSource that was created in the previous step.

Note

This Customizing activity does not support version management of the created DataSource. If you want to extract more fields after the DataSource has been generated, you have three options:

  1. Delete the created objects, change the BI-Extraction-Relevant Customizing settings, then create the DataSource based on this new Customizing again.
  2. Similar to the first option, however, do not delete the objects but create the DataSource with another name.
  3. Change the extract structure via transaction SE11 and activate the DataSource again.
If the Delta extraction has been initialized and form data has been extracted, then the third option is recommended.
