This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the Public Sector Contract Accounting component. You can use it to modify the root of the Social Services reconciliation key used for Social Services to meet your requirements.

The 12-digit reconciliation key contains the following elements (in the Social Services scenario):

  • Characters 1-9: Reconciliation key root
The reconciliation key root cannot contain more than nine characters.
  • Character 10: Set
A maximum of ten sets of reconciliation keys can be created for each node (0-9). The system generates a new set automatically if all possible reconciliation keys in the current set have already been closed or locked.
  • Characters 11-12: Reconciliation key numbers
A set can contains a maximum of 100 numbers (00-99).

Division into root, set and number is a Social Services-specific characteristic for automatic creation and management of reconciliation keys. From an FI-CA perspective, it is only relevant that a reconciliation key ID (characters 1 to 12) is unique. This means that when choosing the root, you should check that the uniqueness of the reconciliation key is possible (see Standard Settings)

Exception
If an entry is made for the parameter IV_OLD_ROOT, this means that an available reconciliation key can no longer be found using the reconciliation key root that was previously valid (this is found in IV_OLD_ROOT). If this (highly unlikely) event occurs, you can decide whether you want to cancel with an error or return a "replacement root".

The SAP standard implementation is executed if no customer implementation is available for this BAdI. The reconciliation key root consists of a literal and the current date.

Example of a reconciliation key root: "PS4080116"

  • Literal "PS4"
  • Character sequence that is derived from the current date, such as "080116" for January 16th 2008

For information about the implementation of BAdIs in the context of the Enhancement Concept, see SAP Library for SAP NetWeaver under BAdIs - Embedding in the Enhancement Framework.
