In this step, you define price groups and price list types for customers who have the same pricing conditions.

You can assign a customer to a price group and a price list type either when recording customer master data or in the sales document.

A price group groups customers with the same pricing characteristics.

A price list type groups price lists with the same characteristics such as, for example, the same price list type, currency or price list number.

You can create your own condition records for each price group and price list type. In addition, you can make pricing dependent on all master data fields that are copied to the sales documents.

The price group 'Wholesale customers' is given a discount of 20%, while customers in the price group 'Occasional purchasers' do not receive a discount.

Purchasers of individual items have a different price list type to wholesale customers.

  1. Check whether your company uses the master data fields for pricing and if so, in what way.
  2. Define your price list types.
