In this step, you maintain the various authorization profiles that define individual users' authorizations.

A profile contains authorization objects and the authorizations they contain for limited task areas.

You record a user's authorization profile in his or her user master record.

The standard system contains the profiles M_LIS_ALL (maintenance authorization for all functions in the Logistics Information System including planning) and J_AUSW_ISP (IS-M evaluations including special IS-M functions in the Logistics Information System).

The standard system also contains the following profiles for Sales and Operations Planning (SOP):

  • C_SOP_ALL (maintenance authorization for all SOP functions)
  • C_SOP_ANZ (display authorization for all SOP functions)

The standard profiles always give authorization for all organizational units.

  1. Check the standard profiles.
  2. If they do not meet your requirements, create new profiles as follows:
    1. Choose 'Generate work order'.
The system displays a list of the profiles.
  1. Choose the menu path Profile -> Create.
  2. Enter the new profile together with a short text.
If you only want to assign authorizations to the new profile, select the 'Single profiles' indicator.
If you also want to assign single profiles, select 'Composite profiles'.
  1. Assign authorizations or single profiles to the new profile.
  2. Save your entries.
  3. Activate the new profile.

To transport profiles, please proceed as follows:

  1. Choose the menu path Profile -> Transport in the profile list.
The system displays a list of the profiles that can be transported.
  1. Select the profiles you want to transport into the productive system.
  2. Press ENTER to confirm your entry and specify a correction number.
