In this IMG activity, you can define whether data distribution for telecommunication services in SAP RM-CA or management of services in SAP CRM is to be used.

During data distribution for telecommunication services in SAP RM-CA, the table IST_TDATA is used to manage service data, which must be populated by an external billing system. The system creates a reference to the telecommunications service to which the open item belongs in open items for the business partner in the (DFKKOP table). The reference in the business partner item consists of entries from the following three fields in the DFKKOP table:

  • Service type (SERVICE)
  • Additional reference object (ADD_REFOBJ)
  • Reference object ID (ADD_REFOBJID)

If you are using service data distribution in SAP RM-CA, the system determines the telephone number, IP address or cell phone/SIM card number that belongs to the service from the IST_TDATA table on the basis of the reference object ID and the additional reference object in the DFKKOP table. You can use this assignment to create lock proposals at the level of the individual services objects (such as telephone numbers) in SAP RM-CA. If you are not using service data distribution in SAP RM-CA, the system only transfers the associated reference object from the open item. Data from the IST_TDATA table is not available.

Note:

Note that there are no plans to make the functions for managing telecommunications service data in the IST_TDATA table compatible with future developments in the area of service data management. If you want to use the IST_TDATA table for service data management, you should contact SAP.

Service data is managed exclusively in SAP CRM. The IST_TDATA table cannot be used. Lock proposals, which are generated in SAP RM-CA from the dunning run for open items, are based on the contract account to which the open item belongs. The system creates a list of lock proposals in SAP RM-CA in a worklist, which you can process periodically using a mass activity. The mass activity transfers the lock proposals to SAP CRM using the SAP NetWeaver - Exchange Infrastructure (XI). SAP CRM enters the lock proposals in a worklist or can transfer them to an external system directly, where the services are technically locked.

You can also transfer unlock proposals from the payment run to SAP RM-CA via XI, and unlock the services immediately.

Activities

Select the Service Management indicator if you want to use service data distribution in SAP RM-CA (without SAP CRM).

Select the CRM Integration indicator if you want to use service data management in SAP CRM.

You can specify the number of days for which lock proposals, which are

sent successfully, are to be retained in the worklist in SAP RM-CA before they can be deleted.
