In this IMG activity, you define processing control at the communication level. The task here is to allocate function modules to processing events. This indicates that the function module is a suitable handler for the processing event to which it is allocated.

The function modules can generate outbound IDocs, for example. In this IMG activity, you merely define possible handlers for processing events. You do not have to make specific settings as to whether you wish to handle a processing event (and, if so, using which function module) until the next IMG activity.

You can add further processing events/function modules, and indeed you must add them if you wish to include new outbound IDocs in communication control. Usually, you will program the new function modules yourself.

SAP provides standard processing events together with their associated function modules.

The entries provided by SAP cannot be changed. You are allowed to use the following namespaces: X*, Y*, Z* (customer namespace).

Define any other processing events/function modules you require in the system.
