KPRO_TREX_PLAN - Schedule Asynchronous Indexing and De-indexing

You use this activity to schedule report RSTIRIDX as a daily background process. If you want content updates to be reflected in the search results soon after they have been carried out, you need to schedule report RSTIRIDX to run several times per day.

If standard scheduling (daily) is applies, authors’ changes are added to/removed from the index on the next day at the earliest.

Report RSTIRIDX starts the indexing and de-indexing processes for documents that have been flagged accordingly, and logs indexing errors.

The selected receiver can view the contents of the report using transaction SO01.

If errors occur, check the following data:

• Error in the Application Log

To obtain detailed information about errors, enter the name SDOK as an object and the name Indexing as a sub-object. Then choose Execute.

• Error in KPro IMS Monitoring.

To schedule a report, you need Batch Administrator authorization for authorization object Batch Processing.

1. Execute the activity.

The Define Job screen appears.

1. Make the following entries:
1. In the Job Name field, enter INDEXING.
2. Select job class B.
3. In the Target field, enter the server name of the computer where you want the background process to be executed.
2. Choose Spool List Recipient.
3. Make the following entries in the Receiver popup:
1. In the Receiver field, enter the name of the receiver.
2. Select the general attributes as required.
3. Choose Apply.

This takes you back to the Define Job screen.

1. Choose Start Condition.

The Start Time Values screen appears.

1. Choose Date/Time.
2. Enter your chosen values for the start time and date.
3. Select the Execute Job at Regular Intervals option.
4. Choose Period Values.
5. Choose Daily.
6. Choose Save.

This takes you back to the Start Time Values screen.

1. Choose Save.

This takes you back to the Define Job screen.

1. Choose Step.
2. Choose ABAP Program.
3. In the ABAP Program pane, enter RSTIRIDX in the Name field.
4. Choose Print Specifications.
5. Choose Properties.
6. Deactivate the Output Immediately option under Print Time.
7. Choose Save or Continue.
8. Go back to the Define Job screen.
9. Choose Save.

The system displays a message informing you that your job was saved successfully and has the status Released.
