Assign custom routines for flexible delivery document numbering to individual delivery document types implemented via CPF.

In this configuration activity, you can assign custom routines for flexible delivery document numbering to specific delivery document types.

When implementing flexible delivery document numbering through the Configurable Parameters and Formulas (CPF) framework, you can can map CPF formula IDs to specific delivery document types.

Each delivery document type can be mapped to one CPF formula. You create this mapping by entering a routine number that you have previously registered and assigned to the target CPF formula in the configuration activity Define Custom Routines for Flexible Delivery Document Numbering. You can open configuration activities by searching for their names in your configuration environment.

The mapping of a delivery document type to a routine number (which in turn is assigned to a CPF formula) tells the system to override the standard delivery document numbering procedure. Instead, for the relevant delivery document type, it uses the custom logic in the assigned decision table in the CPF formula to flexibly determine the number range interval for internal number range assignment from which the delivery document number of a newly created delivery document is drawn.
