You can use this Business Add-In (BAdI) to adjust the user interfaces that display attributes of objects (for example, talents) to suit the requirements of your enterprise.

SAP provides fields that you can display on these user interfaces. If you need additional fields, you can use your own BAdI implementation to evaluate the label and value of these fields.

In Customizing, you have created a configuration for adjusting the user interfaces and assigned the fields that you use the BAdI implementation to evaluate to this configuration.

A category that must be used as the filter value of the BAdI implementation that evaluates the field is assigned to each field. Therefore, create a separate BAdI implementation for each category that you define.

You must also specify for which object type the fields are read (for example, CP (Central Person)).

For the field selection catalog to provide the fields that your BAdI can evaluate, you need to add these fields to the field selection catalog. The BAdI field name that you specify is the field name that you use to identify this field in the BAdI methods.

The BAdI is filter-dependent. The category that groups the fields that are to be evaluated by the BAdI is used as the filter.

The BAdI is designed for multiple use. All activated implementations are called and executed. To display all BAdI implementations that are activated in the standard SAP system, perform the Customizing activity or choose the Enhancem. Implementations tab in the BAdI Builder.

For information about the implementation of BAdIs in the context of the Enhancement Concept, see SAP Library for SAP NetWeaver under BAdIs - Embedding in the Enhancement Framework.

You are using a customer-specific infotype 9123 and want to use the FIELD2 field from this infotype in the Talent Management user interfaces. You have included the field in the field selection catalog and made the following entries:

  • Field name: ZMY_INFOTYPE9123_FIELD2
  • Category: Z_IT9123
  • BAdI field name: FIELD2

You have previously created the category Z_IT9123 and assigned it the CP (Central Person) object type.

Create a customer-specific implementation Z_DR_FIELDS_MY_INFOTYPE_FIELDS of the BAdI so that the field can be evaluated. To do so, you can copy the implementation HRTMC_IM_DR_FIELDS_0002 for the Personal Data (0002) infotype, for example. You adjust the copied implementation to suit your infotype and assign it the category Z_IT9123 as the filter value.
