In this Customizing activity, you can adapt the following elements of the SAP HCM Manager Insight user interfaces:

  • Business card
  • Header data of the employee profile
  • Overview tab of the employee profile
  • Talent tab of the employee profile

To do so, you define customer-specific configurations that you use to specify which fields are to be displayed in which sequence. All fields or columns that you add are displayed in addition to the fields or columns available by default.

You can also specify the following layout information:

  • Field labels
You can specify your own field labels that overwrite the standard field label.
  • Start of new group and group header
You can group fields. You can assign headers to the field groups. You need to assign the group headers to the first field of a field group.
  • Display in table format
You can specify that the field label is displayed in a separate row with the list of values below it.
Note

Note the following restrictions with regard to the business card and the header data of the employee profile:

  • Business card
  • The employee’s name and organization unit are always displayed. Only two additional fields are displayed. If you have configured more than two fields, the system uses the first two fields and ignores the remaining fields.

  • Only field content is displayed, the field labels are not visible.

  • Field groups are not used. Therefore, no group headers are displayed either.

  • The display in table format is not used.

  • Header data of the employee profile
  • The name of the employee is always displayed. In addition to the name, only two further fields are displayed. If you have configured more than two fields, the system uses the first two fields and ignores the remaining fields.

  • Only field content is displayed, the field labels are not visible.

  • Field groups are not used. Therefore, no group headers are displayed either.

  • The display in table format is not used.

If you want to use your own fields in customer-specific configurations, you need to add these fields to the field selection catalog. For more information, see Add Fields to Field Selection Catalog.

The standard SAP system contains standard configurations that follow the SAP_* naming convention. The names of the configurations for SAP HCM Manager Insight start with SAP_MYM_*.

  1. For each user interface that you want to adjust to meet your requirements, create a configuration in the customer-specific namespace.
  2. Assign the fields that are to be displayed to the configuration and specify their sequence and, if required, additional layout information.
  3. In the Customizing activity Assign Configuration to User Interface, assign your configuration to the corresponding element of the user interface.
Note
If you have created configurations for the Talent Management and Talent Development user interfaces, you can also use them for SAP HCM Manager Insight.

You want to display the same fields in the Overview tab of the employee profile as in the standard SAP system, but without group headers. To do so, proceed as follows:

  1. Copy the standard configuration SAP_MYM_EMPLOYEE_OVERVIEW to the customer-specific namespace.
  2. Delete the group headers for your customer-specific configuration.
  3. In the Customizing activity Assign Configuration to User Interface, assign your customer-specific configuration instead of the standard configuration to the parameter EMPLOYEE_OVERVIEW.
