Short Description of Function

Customizing table COMC_IOITF_OFSM (Delivery class = 'E') is a place to assign a State Manager to an Object Family.

Technically, State Manager acts like a control function similar to program logic for an Object Family. State Manager is a component that enables an Object Family to define its behviour and also interpret it. Any State Manager conforming to the (IOITF) State Manager Adapter can be plugged into the Individual Object Integration Framework (IOITF). The assignment of a State Manager to an Object Family is client independent because the part that interprets modelled behaviour remains same - it is the same piece of code (program logic). So whenever an event, that is relevant for an Individual Object, is raised by an application, the State Manager assigned to the corresponding Object Family is used to handle it. Note that modelling the behaviour is client dependent but its interpretation and the manner in which it is defined is client independent.

Hence, this table is client-independent so that one and only one State Manager can be assigned to an Object Family and is used to interpret it behaviour in all clients.
