Short Description of Function

With this function, you change the standard SAP settings for logging via change documents and table logs. These settings are associated with changes in the technical settings of data elements and tables in the Data Dictionary. For more details, see Configuration of Logging and refer to the SAP Library under SAP Netweaver Library --> SAP NetWeaver by Key Capability --> Information Integration by Key Capability.

Recommendations for Multi-Client Operations

Changes to data elements and tables in the Data Dictionary are cross-client. The setting as to which data of an application is to be logged can only be made on a cross-client basis. Whether data are logged at all can be specified on a client-dependent basis for the following cases:

• The setting of the tables determines the table logging. Whether table logs are recorded in a client depends on the setting of the system profile parameter rec/client.

• The setting of the data elements influences the change document creation process. Whether change documents are created depends in general on the client-dependent Customizing of the relevant application. Not every application is linked up to change document creation.
