In this step, you set a link between the Management of Global Employees and the Payroll modules by mapping the MGE compensation package items (CPIs) to the corresponding payroll wage types and infotypes.

You must have completed the following activitie:

Define Currency Fluctuation Protection

In addition, you should perform the following checks:

  • Maintain the pay wage types in the relevant table (T512W).
  • Make a list of all the CPIs that have to be mapped.
  • Determine the CPIs that are needed for the CPI calculation.

The SAP system is shipped with a set of CPI-wage type combinations. You can create your own combinations to meet your company-specific needs.

  • Annual Salary in Home - M003 (valid for the United States)
The CPI Annual Salary in Home is mapped to Wage type Salary (M003), which is used in infotype Basic Pay (0008).
  • Foreign Service Premium - 2001
The CPI Foreign Service Premium (2001) is mapped to the corresponding wage type, which is used in infotype Recurring Payments and Deductions (0014) and whose payment date is set the first day of the month following the relative month.
  1. Select the country you want to restrict the mapping to and click Enter.
  2. Select a compensation package item and delimit it.
  3. Select the corresponding wage type and the relevant payment, tax or social insurance infotype.
  4. Enter the payment date and the relative month (that is, the current month plus the number of months you have entered). Note that this only applies to recurring payments and deductions (0014) and to additional payments (0015).
  5. Set the Currency Fluctuation indicator if you want to protect the amount from the risks of inflation and select the wage type to be used in this case.
  6. Save your entries.
